The Bomb – bay

13th again, had an unusual day followed by a scary night. History repeats itself, but in our country it reiterates incessantly. Hopeless leaders and useless protocols! Or not “Hopeless” or “Useless” maybe, even these words are useful enough.

The Bomb-bay

The narration goes like this – someone comes to our country, guns down people, executes bomb blasts, gets caught, and we play court-court with him! With hordes of money laundered around his SAFETY, we make him our national son-in-law. Philanthropic as we are, that’s what we do when someone stabs us back! We step aside after crunching them in a war, release prisoners, talk about PEACE (Pakistan’s Easily Available Convivial Empathy) only to witnesses shattered PIECES of hopes, kinship, and innocent lives.

Dushman ko bhi seene se lagana nahin bhoole ,
hum apne buzurgon ka zamaana nahi bhoole ,
Tum aankh ki barsaat bachaye huye rakhna ,
kuch log abhi aag lagana nahin bhoole ………..

I am not being Nostalgic, for I never get a chance to be! Every time the memory starts fading, a fresh wound is stabbed and then as my friend Chandan mentioned “And another bunch of nerds are out to say “Insaniyat Zindabad…Mumbai will prevail”…they happen to be India’s representatives”

I know Mumbai will always prevail, but what about Bomb-bay?? And what about Kashmir, and Delhi, and Indore and…. What about India, and the Indians! We have been habitual of this nuisance…I know mere talking won’t do and I realize it would require a mass movement, maybe like the one in Libya! When and how? I am ashamed I don’t know!
Maybe it’s not about Pakistan or Afghanistan, it’s about Terrorism! Maybe, it’s about how we’re strong yet so weedy! There are so many questions, and the answer is a “MAYBE
On this transcribe I recollect Faraz’s verses…

Chiraagh Jalana Toh Puraani Rasmein Hain ‘Faraz’…
Ab Toh Tere Shehar Ke Log Insaan Jala Detey Hain……!

  1. Its time our leaders stopped issuing condemnations and took action instead. Smoke them out, kill them.
We are tired of being sitting ducks for these agents of hate!

  2. I totally agree, we have had enough of consolation speeches. Now is the time, our Govt. starts doing something rather than spending crores of hard earned money of the Indian middle class to keep terrorists safe.

  3. Awesome, a well written piece and more importantly, its the mirror which reflects the harsh reality of current times. Sorry to say..we all are not doing anything..resting our asses on the couch while watching the NEWS 21 dead and 141 injured!!

  4. I feel and share the anguish of a wounded Indian. We are as much at the mercy of leadership that is more interested in playing vote politics than biting the bullet. What we need are leaders who can take bold steps instead of pussyfooting around terrorists and agents of terror. Like you say, the answer is just ‘maybe’.

  5. Why do I feel that ground police empowerment will lead to better security of the nation? The police force right now lacks the money; seeks the bribe; loses focus on the job. Government should pay them well, and they must develop a rigid fear inspiring status in-order to maintain peace in the nation; from both the anti-social elements inside the country and outside the country.

    1. I think that’s a real good point that you’ve mentioned… what policemen get for braving their lives is absolutely nothing. But then i also fear that even if their salaries are increased, things might not really click altogether.

  6. Enough of saying! Time to convert sayings into actions. The youth of india need to create some serious rage against the corrupted government, only then they’ll awaken to do something about all this!

  7. Widespread anger on the issue already persists. What needs to be avoided is the blame game which begins just after untoward incidents happen. Sadly, even the common public does not leave out the opportunity at lashing out its elected representatives.

    1. While lashing out at the “representatives” every-time might not be a possible solution, i think the public has every right to question authorities after repeated terror attacks that plunders their “We are safe” claims. Especially when they say we have been successful at handling terror 8 out of 10 times. Gratitude eh!

      P.S: No offence intended!

  8. Piyush sorry for posting an unappropriate comment here, but I really liked your imagination in thinking of romantic heroine reading a love letter – actually that statue does look like that! 🙂
